Ballymun, Dublin · Groundbreaking July 1st

Not just a studio.
It’s the Shed.

A purpose-built recording studio in the heart of Ballymun. Come make music, find the hidden sheds, and leave with more than a track.

Shed Productions

come find the sheds

Built from scratch, in the back garden it started in.

Shed Productions is a Ballymun-rooted creative house — a real studio, with a real story, built and run by the people who actually use it. Dark oak floors, treated acoustics, 5.1 surround, and a vocal booth that sounds as good as it looks. No corporate sterility. No clock-watching. Just a space built to make something good.

One roof, four creative arms.

Shed Records

The label. Artist releases, production, and distribution out of the Shed.

Shed Talk

The podcast network. Conversations recorded properly, start to finish.

Shed Pictures

The film division. Short films and video, written and shot from the ground up.

Shed Photography

Stills and visual work to round out every release.

Most studios sell you gear. We give you a place.

Sound

Treated for real

Pyramid foam, Rockwool, and a 7x7ft vocal booth built to actually control the room — not just look like it does.

Mode

Shed or White Room

Purple lights, arcade on, music playing — or white lights, phones away, pen and paper. Same room, your call.

Welcome

The old shed.

At the start of the shed there was no vocal booth, no Rodecaster, no Shed Talk. At the very start the shed was a space where we could go hang out, play cards and chill. Then when we started to make music, we recorded off headphones and a laptop — that worked at the time but it wasn’t the best, so I got a Scarlett Solo, and that was the whole equipment until we started Shed Talk and I got a lend of a Scarlett 2i2 off a youth worker we know. Eventually I had to give it back, so I got a Rodecaster Pro, and for 5–6 months no Shed Talk or Shed Records music was recorded in the shed since I didn’t know how to use it. Eventually I learned, and we recorded in the shed again — we had a good mic, stand and isolator, and used it like that for a couple weeks. Then we cleaned the coal shed and put heavy curtains in it to stop the reflections. We didn’t have any foam pads besides the cheap Amazon ones that didn’t do anything, and then I bought pyramid tiles and put them up, which worked perfectly.

Rough as it was, it worked. This building is what that coal shed grew into.
